A supported postpartum begins before your baby arrives.

  • 90-minute planning session

  • In-person or online

  • Partner / support person welcome

  • Optional bundles available

This 90-minute postpartum planning session honours the profound transition to motherhood, including the physical, emotional, and identity shifts of matrescence. It offers space to prepare with care and intention.

Sessions can be held in person at your home* or online. Together, we’ll create a realistic and nurturing plan for your fourth trimester, shaped around your family, your home, and your needs. We’ll explore rest, nourishment, emotional wellbeing, boundaries, and the new rhythms of early motherhood, as well as how your partner and wider network can help you feel supported.

This isn’t about creating a perfect plan or predicting every outcome. It’s about gently anticipating what might support you, creating space to exhale, and stepping into motherhood feeling steadier, supported, and validated as you find your new rhythm.

If this isn’t your first baby, you might already know how vulnerable the postpartum period can be….

Perhaps you felt under-supported last time, or found yourself “getting on with it” when what you really needed was care.

These planning sessions offer space to reflect on what you’d like to carry forward, as well as what you’d like to do differently this time. Together, we can gently anticipate what support might help you feel steadier as you welcome another child into your family.

During a planning session, we may explore areas such as:

  • We’ll talk through what food and nourishment might realistically look like in the early weeks, with a focus on warmth, simplicity, and ease. This may include food, drinks, and practical ways to make eating feel supported rather than overwhelming.

  • We’ll map out the support around you, looking at who’s there, what help feels useful, and where you might need more. This isn’t about having a perfect village, but about making honest, supportive choices with the people in your life.

  • We’ll explore how to protect your time, energy, and emotional space after birth. This might include visitors, advice, expectations, and ways to say “not right now” with clarity and kindness.

  • We’ll make space to talk about the emotional landscape of early motherhood, including mixed feelings, vulnerability, and adjustment. We’ll also explore how to recognise when extra support might be helpful.

  • Becoming a mother brings deep shifts in identity. We’ll gently acknowledge this transition and talk about what might support you as you adjust to who you’re becoming.

  • We’ll consider the rhythms of daily life in the early weeks, including sleep, feeding, rest, and decision-making, with an emphasis on flexibility rather than routine.

  • We’ll talk about how partners or co-parents can support you, not just the baby, including shared expectations, emotional support, and practical care.

  • Helpful signposting to trusted resources or additional support in your area.

Frequently Asked Questions.

  • Not at all. These sessions are for anyone preparing for life after birth, whether you’re welcoming your first baby or your fourth. Many parents come to planning sessions because they want things to feel different this time, or because they now understand how important postpartum support can be.

  • There’s no single “right” time. Some people book during pregnancy, while others come in the early weeks after birth, once they have a clearer sense of what support might help.

If you’re expecting a baby or newly postpartum and feeling the need for steadier support, a planning session can still be a helpful place to begin.

  • That’s completely fine, and very common. You don’t need to arrive with answers or a clear idea of what support should look like. The session is a space to think things through together, gently and without pressure.

  • Not necessarily, and that’s okay. Every planning session is shaped around you, and we’ll focus our time on what feels most important right now, rather than trying to cover everything at once.

Some people find that one session is enough, while others choose to book more than one session so we can continue the conversation over time. Bundle discounts are available for if you decide to book multiple sessions in one go.

  • No. Postpartum planning sessions are practical, reflective, and supportive, but they aren’t therapy. If it feels helpful, I can gently signpost additional support or trusted resources.

  • Many people come to planning sessions carrying experiences they’d like to understand or do differently. There’s space to reflect on what was hard, what was missing, and what might feel more supportive this time, always at your pace.

  • Yes. Partners or co-parents are very welcome to join all or part of the session, if that feels helpful.

If there’s another person who will play a significant role in your postpartum care, such as a parent, close friend, or other support, they’re also welcome to attend, with your agreement.

The session remains centred on the mother, but support works best when the people around her understand what’s needed.

  • Once you’ve booked, I’ll send you a short questionnaire to help guide and get the most out of our conversation. We’ll then meet for a 90-minute session, either in person or online, depending on what you’ve chosen.
