Planning the Fourth Trimester.
Prepare for the fourth trimester with intention, confidence and care.
The arrival of a baby marks the beginning of a profound new chapter. Alongside caring for your newborn, you're also navigating your own transition into motherhood, a process known as matrescence.
This season isn't something to simply get through. It's a time of healing, adjustment, discovery and becoming.
A postpartum planning session creates space to think intentionally about what life after birth might look like, so you can step into the fourth trimester feeling more prepared, supported and connected.
-
Together we'll explore:
Creating your support map so you know who you can turn to for practical and emotional help.
Preparing your partner for the important role they'll play in supporting you, as well as your baby.
Setting boundaries with love, helping you think about visitors, offers of help and protecting your family's space.
Building your village, from friends and family to local groups and trusted professionals who can support you beyond birth.

The fourth trimester is about more than caring for a newborn. It's also a time of healing, recovery and adjustment for you. We'll explore simple, realistic ways to prioritise your own wellbeing alongside caring for your baby.
Together we'll explore:
Rest and recovery, and why slowing down is an important part of healing.
Nourishment, including easy meal ideas, snacks and ways to make eating well feel achievable.
Warmth and comfort, drawing inspiration from traditional postpartum practices that prioritise rest, circulation and gentle care.
Supporting your nervous system, with simple grounding practices to help you feel calmer during overwhelming moments.
Your emotional wellbeing, recognising the transition into motherhood and creating space for your feelings without judgement.
During labour I'll offer support through:
Continuous emotional support
Comfort measures and position suggestions
Massage, breathing and relaxation techniques
Advocacy and helping you navigate decisions
Supporting your birth partner so they feel confident and involved
Remaining with you until after your baby is born

There is no perfect way to become a parent. This session isn't about creating rigid routines, but about helping you feel confident enough to find what works for your family.
Together we'll explore:
Matrescence, understanding the emotional and identity changes that often accompany becoming a mother.
Realistic expectations, letting go of perfection and making space for the reality of life with a newborn.
Daily rhythms, gently thinking about feeding, rest and creating a flow that works for your family.
Practical planning, from preparing your home to thinking ahead about the little things that can make a big difference.
Helpful resources and local support, so you leave with trusted recommendations and somewhere to turn if you need additional help.
This isn't about creating a perfect plan or predicting every outcome. It's about gently anticipating what might support you...
