Meet Fran.

I’m so glad you’re here…

If you've found your way to Rose + Nettle, I'm guessing you're preparing to welcome a baby, or perhaps you've recently become a parent. However you've arrived here, I hope this feels like a place where you can pause for a moment, breathe, and know that you don't have to navigate this transition alone.

My Story.

Becoming a mother changed me. It taught me the importance of being cared for, not just caring for a baby.

A few years later, a cancer diagnosis deepened that understanding even further. Experiencing the kindness and practical support of others during one of the hardest seasons of my life changed how I saw care forever.

When I came through treatment, I knew I wanted to spend my time supporting families through one of life's biggest transitions.

It's to walk alongside you, offering calm, compassionate, evidence-informed support that helps you feel confident enough to make the decisions that are right for your family.

Whether we're preparing for birth, talking through the realities of the fourth trimester or simply sharing a cup of tea while your baby sleeps, I want you to feel listened to, respected and genuinely cared for.

When I think about the kind of doula I want to be, I come back to one simple question.

Would I be the person you'd want beside you at 3am?

Not because I'd have all the answers, but because I'd bring a calm presence, a listening ear, practical support and the reassurance that you don't have to navigate this transition alone.

If that sounds like the kind of support you're looking for, I'd love to meet you.

I believe…

  • Birth is more than a medical event; it's a life transition.

  • Mothers deserve to be cared for too.

  • There is no one "right" way to become a parent.

  • Support should be practical, compassionate and evidence-informed.

  • When mothers are well supported, families and communities flourish.

My Approach

I don't believe there's one "right" way to give birth or become a parent.

Every family is different, every baby is different, and every experience is shaped by its own hopes, challenges and joys.

My role isn't to tell you what to do or to have all the answers
